Year 3 have held a welcome home street party for our injured soldier Harold. Throughout theme week the children have written letters as if they were Harold informing parents of what life was like in WW1 in the trenches and fighting in the battles. They have also collectively created the figure of Harold who has been central to our leaning this week. We have researched street parties and have recreated a welcome home street party for Harold which included trying different foods which were similar to the foods the soldiers would have eaten in the war. We also had a go at rationing our food to give the children a feel of what it would be like to not have food readily available to them.
It looks like you had a lot of fun Year 3!
