Year 2 re-enact The Great Fire of London

Year 2 have been designing, creating and painting houses made out of cardboard that resemble the houses in London in 1666 as part of their DT project. Everyone got involved and Mr Fox brought along some extra flammable materials to place inside the houses for the next part of their re-enactment.

Once the houses were perfected and finished, the children took to our outdoor learning area with Mr Fox. The houses were put into position and the fire was set in what would have been the bakery. The children watched in shock and amazement as the fire quickly spread throughout the houses they had made – just like it did in the Great Fire of London. Mr Fox safely put out the flames once all the houses had burned to ash.
