t-1409-Y2lighthouse01Year 2 have been reading the book by Ronda Armitage as part of their topic.

In order to see if it were possible, children reconstructed the lighthouse and managed to get Mrs Grinling’s fabulous lunch over to the lighthouse without a seagull in sight.

The book tells the story of a lighthouse keeper, Mr Grinling, and the problems his wife has getting his lunch across from the mainland. Mrs Grinling prepares a delicious lunch for her husband, but the drated seagulls keep eating it before it reaches him. After several failed attempts, she finally manages to foil the pesky birds with some mustard flavoured sandwiches!
