Beat the Black Friday Hype at Our Christmas Fayre.

25th November 2016

Admittedly a little early in the season, the school hosted its 2016 Christmas Fayre today. A fabulous event, organised so well by the ever talented PTFA. Thanks to all who came and took part.

Philippa Hanna Knocks ’em Speechless

29th September 2014 Guest Singer Philippa Hanna and her drummer Joel came to school today to perform in front of the children.

t-1409-philippahanna05Phillipa is a British singer-songwriter from Sheffield, England. She has worked in a variety of musical styles, but is most associated with the contemporary Christian music genre. She used the music to explore some common themes including,

  • believing in yourself;
  • being happy with who you are;
  • bullying;
  • taking part and having fun.

It’s true to say that the children sat in awed silence listening to the message and Philippa’s lovely voice.

Philippa tweeted:

FANTASTIC morning with the kids! Love how little ones are so individual and so great at having fun. Thanks for your prayers all xx

Thanks to her and Joel for coming and sharing at The William Amory.

Soundwaves Sing Out

Thursday 5th November

SoundWaVES – our very own choir, visited a local Retirement Home today to share some Christmas Music with the residents. Mrs Wilkins and the singers threw in a few classic carols such as Hark the Herald Angels, and, Oh Come All Ye Faithful. Other folk songs, melodies and blues songs such as, Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head; Jeepers Creepers  and Scarborough Fayre also added to the singalong atmosphere.

A big well done to all the members of SoundWaVES and Mrs Wilkins for organising the trip. Thanks also to the Nursing home for inviting us in.
