A big warm welcome to all new children and parents and a welcome back to existing ones. I’m really looking forward to the next few months and hope that we have a great year.
The William Amory Nursery and After School Club
We really look forward to getting to know our new children in the nursery. First signs are extremely positive. I have spent some time there this week and can report that the children seem to have settled in well and seem very happy in there.
Over the next few weeks we will be introducing some changes such as bookings and payments but please rest assured that we will always try to accommodate existing members during this transition.
I am stunned at how well the children have settled. Never before have I arrived in class at 9.05am on the first day and found the children sitting ready to learn. A brilliant start!
Parent Information Evening
We find it useful to invite parents into classes to find out about routines and the curriculum in each class. Here is an opportunity to see how your class teacher will organise reading, homework and other things. It may well also include information about trips and other things. According to your child’s class, you make your way to the appropriate room at the appropriate time. We fully recognise that there are a small handful of parents who may find times clash. We will also send information home. This is a drop in session and doesn’t need booking. Looking forward to seeing you then.
We run two sessions, one for your class(es) and another information session in the hall– this year about e-safety.
18.00 – 18.30 for Reception, Year 1, Year 2 & e-safety in the hall
18.30 – 19.00 for Years 3 to 6 and e-safety in the hall.
Photographers will be in on Monday 18th September for photographs. Each visit has a different format. This term’s is Families, siblings and individuals.
What this means is that if you want to have a family photograph taken by them come in through the main entrance between 08.30 and 09.00 (no later) with your children and they will take photos.
After that we will organise for individual and sibling photographs to take place during the day. Sample packs come out a few weeks later for you to purchase if you wish.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
The school raises money for this charity on the 29th. Cakes are gratefully received and the session will start as soon as the children go in. More information will follow.
Clubs letter will come out next week.
Not much to report this week!
