Next week will be our second Reception Induction session. Our ambition is for parents to leave their children at the entrance and for us to escort them to class. Obviously we can have parents come up as well but we aim to try to get them independently into class.
Given how wonderfully the children settled into class this week, I think this is quite possible this year.
Drop In Parent’s Evening
Reports will be out shortly and we provide a final parents’ evening this term. This is not like other parents’ evenings and is far more of a drop in evening. Our reports to parents will contain all that we feel we need to communicate to parents. We provide this drop in session for any parent who may wish to speak to the teacher for clarification about the report. We won’t really have anything more to add so coming in on the 16th won’t provide you with any new information.
Should you wish to speak to your teacher about the report, please make your way to the classroom and the teacher will be available to speak to you if they are free to do so. We don’t take appointments for this session.
Our School service is on Thursday 18th at 14.00. We ask parents to wait for us on the KSI playground to help escort our school over to the church. Year 6 do not come as they are preparing their service for Friday but this gives our Year 5’s the chance to look after other classes and take on their roles as the oldest children in school.
Pick up is from school only after we return from church which should be at around 15:00 to 15:30.
What a great class – thanks to all parents for coming and, judging by the fact that many children didn’t want to go, we’ve got some keen and eager children on the way for 19/20.
Thank you to parents for attending our e-safety workshop. I do hope my message was not too alarming and that you are now perhaps a little better prepared for the dangers of online grooming and predation. Please contact me if you want to have further information about parental controls for your broadband providers or your mobile devices.
A great turnout and some great work going on. Thanks to all who came.
As always, I will always do my best to speak to you about any concerns you may have on the day so please feel free to approach me, either on the playground or book an appointment if you prefer.
