Film Night is on 24th October 2018. For those unfamiliar with the format, it starts straight after school and goes on until 17.30. Pick up is from the main entrance and into the entrance hall.
Sweets and a drink come with your ticket (which cost £2) and there are refreshments available for sale on the night. We are proposing to watch a U rated film but are waiting to see which film is released in time.
We have invited Cathy Preston to form an after school French club for KSI and KSII children. Mrs Preston is licensed to teach French through the country’s leading extracurricular languages provider, La Jolie Ronde (www.lajolieronde.co.uk). They have won the 2017 What’s-on-4-Awards for “Best National Activity for 5-12 years olds” as voted for by parents. These clubs would happen after school on a day to be confirmed. There is a cost involved as laid below:
- Structured course book and app code: £12.95
- Structured course book, CD and app code: £13.75
- Cost per lesson: £4.75
- Example: total cost for a six-week term with book, CD and app code would be: £42.25. (6×4.75)+13.75.
Please sign up for taster days by the 16th October 2018.
Reminder – 100th Anniversary of WWI
Some parents might remember the absolutely brilliant display the children put on in 2014 to mark the 100th anniversary of the First World War.
Well, we’re coming up to the anniversary of the end of that war and Lev Wood has asked us to work with him again to celebrate the occasion. We are intending to produce some 600 poppies to display at St Peter’s for Remembrance Day. We need your help. We are looking for donations of:
Washed… empty… clear plastic… 2 litre fizzy drink bottles.
They must look like the picture on the bottom. We would like the whole bottle please, including lid.
Please could you send any that you have so that we can cut them up and use them to paint.
We can’t use anything other than 2litre, clear fizzy drink bottles.
As always, I will always do my best to speak to you about any concerns you may have on the day so please feel free to approach me, either on the playground or book an appointment if you prefer.
Mr B Wilken
