Looking Forward

Welcome Mrs Root

On behalf of the children, governors and staff, I’d like to welcome Mrs Root to our school. She has been visiting for quite some time to make sure she hits the ground running in Year 5.

On Monday 13th at 18:30 PTFA will be meeting at school. All are very welcome to come.

Road to Reading Week

Put the 27th February in your diaries. We have invited the Book Bus to come to school on that date for children and parents to visit. We shall kick it off with a reading workshop for parents in the hall, followed by activities in class for parents and children. You will also get the chance to visit the Book Bus (Run by The Book People so you know it’s good value) to buy books if you want.

Well, the good news is that the electoral commission has finally agreed to move to the village hall. The school will no longer be the venue for elections.

Given the short notice, and particularly as we have a bank holiday the day after – we shall keep the INSET of 7th May as it stands.

We seem to be constantly having complaints from the local council, residents and other road users about parking. Please show consideration to other users and do not park on blind corners, blind hills, driveways (including school’s and nursery’s) and disabled parking spaces.

We do ask the local parking attendants and PCSO to patrol as often as they can – a parking ticket is a great deterrent. I do get out as often as I can to look. But it’s not really the school’s role to tell parents/carers how to park.

Can I remind parents that we do not allow dogs on the playground so we ask you to keep them outside school. Many thanks.

As always, I will always do my best to speak to you about any concerns you may have on the day so please feel free to approach me, either on the playground or book an appointment if you prefer.
