School Council

p-swirlydiscoIn September, each class in Years 1 to 6 elects somebody to join our school council.

Our school council meet every half-term. In these meetings they will have the opportunity to express the views and suggestions of people in their class. After the meetings the councillors will feed back any important information to their peers. We hope that through their membership of the school council pupils will develop important life skills, such as speaking and listening skills, teamwork, emotional literacy, problem-solving, moral reasoning skills, self-esteem and self confidence. We hope it will enable pupils to have a voice and to understand that their opinions count.

In the last year the School Council have assisted in or organised several events including raising money to provide a School Council Budget, which has been used on various schemes including books. The played a crucial role in our garden design week and have raised over £700 for charity in the past 12 months.
